DETAILS

The Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards is a prestigious organization that has existed for over 80 years. This organization recognizes works of literature that addresses racism and diversity. The goal for this project was to

Original site

The original Anisfield-Wolf site was dense with information, difficult to navigate and lacked a clear visual identity. Addtionally, it is was not mobile responsive which created usability issues. For such a prestigious organization, such as this one, we needed to make sure our redesign addressed all of these issues.

The logo identity we created uses a serif style font which denotes to a classic literary font style. We also included an asterisks at a visual motif.

Asterisks, when seen in writing represent there is further information to be discovered. We connected this literary device to Anisfield-Wolf to symbolize there is more to this organization. Not only are they an awards ceremony but they are an educational resource and social advocates.

We created patterns in multiple colors to represent the broad range of
people and stories that are shared in the Anisfield-Wolf canon. When viewed together
they look as a quilt, weaving together stories of the past and present.
